Clairefontaine Paint On Pads are made within the Clairefontaine paper mill in Meurthe, France. The pads contain 24 pages of long natural unbleached virgin fibres, making this paper 100% natural and bio-degradable. It is also PEFC certified from sourced, recyclable materials so it is very eco-friendly and has a unique mechanical strength and flexibility. The sheets are pH neutral and acid-free. Each page is 250gsm, a heavy paper, it is great for watercolour, pastels and pencils. This sketchbook is very versatile, with a unique feature of the 6 shades within being from the Paint On Range, this includes; Blanc, a Grain, Gris, Naturel, Noir and introducing Denim. 

The Clairefontaine Paint On Pad is cut-edge which provides a clean edge to the paper. The cover is paperback with a cardboard back to provide a harder surface to work on. The bind is glued in and produces a straight edge when ripped out of the pad; it can also open-flat. This book is slightly thick and a great for anybody who wishes to try a range of papers in one convenient sketchbook.

We recommend that this pad is perfect for all art techniques and works especially well with mixed-media including watercolour, pencils and pens. Because it is 250gsm it is a thick weight and can easily take on water. It is a very versatile paper that can be used for all techniques.
