Clairefontaine Graf Books are made within the Clairefontaine paper mill in Meurthe, France. The pads contain 200 pages of long natural unbleached virgin fibres, making this paper 100% natural and bio-degradable. It is also PEFC certified from sourced, recyclable materials so it is very eco-friendly and has a unique mechanical strength and flexibility. The sheets are pH neutral and acid-free. Each page is 100gsm and is great for pen and ink, especially fine liners. The paper uses cartridge paper, which is white in colour and is very smooth in texture. 

The Clairefontaine Graf Book is cut-edge which provides a clean edge to the paper. The cover is paperback and the bind is glued and then section-stitched which makes the pad very sturdy, durable and perfect for traveling; it can also open-flat and open upto 360 degrees. There is a black line in the middle of these pads, as shown in the images. This book is thick and a great accessory for sketching.

We recommend that this sketchpad is perfect for dry art techniques and works especially well with pen and ink. Because it is 100gsm it is a light weight and won’t take watercolour or any other similar wet technique well and the paper could easily buckle. We would suggest any dry medium that can be used for sketching will work wonderfully on this smooth paper.
