Saunders Waterford Paper is made at the St Cuthberts mill in Wells, Southern England. The paper consists of long grain fibres that are made with 100% cotton. These sheets have a neutral pH size (internally) which makes them genuinely acid-free. The paper ranges in texture between Hot Press, Not/Cold Press and Rough Press in a variety of weights; 90lb, 140lb, 200lb and 300lb. Each sheet comes in 56 x 76 C.M (22 x 30 Inch) size.

Saunders Waterford Paper is deckle-edge which provides a rough edge to the paper. A high quality artists watercolour paper that is loved by industry professionals and artists alike. 

Watercolour paper is available in three textures. Cold press or ‘Not’ which has a slight texture, Rough which has a heavily textured and sometimes uneven surface, and Hot press which has a smooth even surface.

We recommend that this paper is perfect for wet art techniques and works especially well with watercolours. It is a fairly heavy paper and will take watercolour or any other similar wet technique well and the paper won’t easily buckle. We would suggest any wet medium, however pastels, charcoal and other sketching materials will work well on this surface too.
