Hahnemühle Sumi-E Paper Pads contain 20 specialised Sumi-E sheets and are designed to be used with Japanese Sumi-E Ink. These sheets have a neutral pH size (internally) which makes them genuinely acid-free. The paper has a slightly textured finish giving the surface a nice amount of texture. Available in one weight at 80gsm (40lbs).

Hahnemühle Sumi-E Paper Pads are cut-edge which provides a clean edge to the paper. A high quality, acid-free, pad that is loved by professionals and Sumi-E artists alike. The paper is designed to be used with Sumi-E Ink and additionally this method of working is also used as relaxation therapy.

The pad is available in 24x32cm sizing and contains 20 individual sheets. The pads are available in a glued bind, both variants also feature a softcover to make it easier when tearing sheets out. The Sumi-E sheets are separated with a layer of tissue paper to protect the paper for use. 

We recommend that this paper is perfect for Japanese Painting techniques and works especially well with Sumi-E ink specifically. It can be used with certain sketching materials in a pinch. We would suggest using this pad for Japanese painting works, specifically with Sumi-E inks as the pad is specialised for this use.
