Arches make one of the highest quality artist’s papers we stock. They are renowned for their Watercolour Papers and this is their foray into the world of Oil Painting. The paper does not have a canvas texture and instead has a cold pressed surface to retain the feel of traditional Arches Papers. The paper has a barrier that absorbs binders, solvents and water easily while allowing pigments to remain on the surface. Mould-Made, Acid-Free and made with 100% Rag Cotton,  the pad is artist quality, excellent for professionals or students. 

This is an excellent pad for painting with oils, the special coating the paper has allows it to be used with thinners, linseed oil and a variety of other oil paint mediums without risk of breaking. One should use caution however as overloading the paper with thick paint applications may cause buckling or other issues. The pad can also be used as a watercolour pad, as the paper inside is extremely similar to Arches Not (Cold Pressed) watercolour paper. Acrylic paint and sketching materials can also be used.
