Thai Mulberry paper is perfect for printmaking. A smooth yet slightly textured surface that is waxed and acid-free; the high-quality paper is cut-edge. Minimum order of 10 sheets.

Details

Thai Mulberry Papers are made using high-quality materials within the UK. These papers are handmade and wax coated making them have unique properties. Each page is 40gsm which can be used for Printmaking, scrapbooking and craft work. The paper is smooth with a slight texture, depending on the variety chosen and comes in a wide range of colours. Each sheet is 50cm x 70cm (500mm x 700mm) in size.

Thai Mulberry Papers are cut-edge which provides a clean edge to the paper. However due to these papers being natural they may have slight variations in cut and edge. The paper features two distinct finishes to work on. With one being a silk smooth finish and the other having a more textured “banana” effect. This beautiful paper is ideal for printmaking and crafting.

Our Rating

We recommend that Thai Mulberry Paper is perfect for Printmaking and works especially well with linocut and screenprints. Because it is 40gsm it is a lightweight paper and wouldn't work well with wet media. It can be used with some variety of mediums but we highly suggest using block printing ink, pencils and glue. We think this papr is perfect for things such as scrapbooking and printmaking.

Excellent papers, though there seems to be two different types (one is banana paper with a slightly different look, which I prefer)

The paper is beautiful. I’m so pleased, it was just what I was looking for. It was well wrapped and protected and was delivered very promptly. Thank you.

Good paper for printing

I used this for hand-printing woodcuts. It worked well. The different colours are different textures. For example the “Natural”, “Sea Grey” and “Peppermint” had interesting inclusions, a bit like wood chips or leaf fragments, which made the surface a bit bumpy and irregular (which I liked). The “Lavender” still had texture, but it was smooth. Lavender is a very pale colour, just slightly tinted. Amber is a beautiful strong colour with inclusions. The paper is strong enough for printing and lovely colours. I liked the fact that I could buy 10 papers of different colours. It arrives rolled, and in a box: one of the sheets was a bit crumpled on arrival, but not a big problem. I would buy again.
